What is a Detached House in Singapore?

A detached house in Singapore is more commonly called a bungalow, whether it is a single-storey structure or not.

Redevelopment will not be approved should the minimum requirements not be met.


Why are detached houses in Singapore more valuable?

A site coverage is calculated based on the footprint of the house and coverage of all the house’s features that are raised 1 metre or more above the ground level when viewed from above. These site coverages are in place for landscaping and greenery, hence a majority of detached homes are frequently surrounded by lush landscaping and designer gardens.
